I · The show
A podcast about Morocco's future
NEXT WAVE is a French-language podcast about the people building Morocco's future, presented by Mohamed Lahkim. It's published as audio and on YouTube, with series running beside the main feed.
I proposed the concept for its website, and designed and built it.
II · What I made
The site and its player
Designed and built in full:
- The episode list, filtered by series.
- A page per episode: chapters, sponsors, the links mentioned, and the show on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
- A player that keeps playing from page to page.
- The handover between the audio and the YouTube video.
- A content studio in French, with a button to publish the site.
- The podcast feed, for every listening app.
III · Listening
The episode keeps playing
There is one player, and it never stops: it follows you from the list to an episode and back, at the speed you chose. The chapter playing is marked as you listen, and a chapter of another episode starts that episode at the right place.
IV · Watching
Audio and video, at the same second
Press “Regarder” and the audio pauses while the YouTube video opens at the same moment. Close the video and the audio picks up where the video stopped.
V · The identity
Electric blue, in three layers
An electric blue around the cover, which comes in three layers, a blue square, NEXT and WAVE, that tilt apart under the cursor. Bebas Neue for the titles, Space Grotesk to read, and a waveform drawn the same way on every page.
VI · Publishing
Published without code
Episodes, series and settings are edited in a studio set entirely in French. An episode appears only once its date has come and its audio is attached, and a “Déployer” button publishes the site.
